• address
• phone number
• if you will have more than 15 gallons to dispose of

FOOD SCRAPS PROGRAM

Harwinton is partnering with Torrington for a 1 year pilot to have residents remove food waste from the waste stream.  Starting January 6th you will be able to drop food waste off at the town garage.

• Email address
• Phone number
• Home adddress
• If you would like the Starter Kit for $20.00 (check only)
• Or, if you are using your own buckets and biodigradable bags

Hours of Operation and Rules for Use

• The Food Scraps Container will be open and available for use 7-3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  It will be open 7- 7 on Thursdays.
• There is to be no dumping of food scraps when the cage is locked.
• Gate must remain closed after use.
• Dumpster shall remain closed after use.
• De-package all food.
• Biobags are acceptable for food waste to be disposed.
• Keep the area clean
• All food waste must go into dumpster
• NO HUNTING DEBRIS ALLOWED
• Starter kits are available at the First Selectman's Office in Town Hall Monday - Thursdays, 9:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m.
